Beris Fulmer Comfort / Thin Comfort. This anatomically correct bit rests equally on tongue and bars and offers more room and mobility for the tongue. With this bit the pulled rein will apply pressure evenly on tongue and bars. A lateral squeezing of tongue and bars will not happen. Also a pinching of the lips will be impossible by using bit guards. The Comfort Bar lies thanks to it`s shape very still in the horses‘ mouth. Mullen Mouth bits are considered to be fairly mild which enables the rider to communicate with his horse in a more gentle and delicate way. The soft Comfort Bit is ideal for young and sensitive horses. Thin Comfort is similar in shape with the Comfort Bar, just the diameter is with 15 mm a lot thinner. This recommends the bit for ponies and horses with non spacious mouthes. The mouthpiece is available in a Thin Soft, Soft, Thin Hard and Hard version. Beris mouthpieces are made of a food safe plastic compound with a surface refinement unequalled so far in the range of plastic bits. The surface is very smooth and they slide easily in the mouth, even if the horse doesn´t salivate that much. The “eraser like effect” known of rubber bits will not occur with our mouthpieces! Horses accept them very well and will often be encouraged to chew and salivate more. The mouthpieces should be rinsed with clean water after every use. The extended cheek bars, above and below the mouthpiece help to guide the horse‘s head in the turns whilst the loose ring makes it a more mobile bit. So this bit may be useful if the horse goes better in a loose ring or leans in a fixed cheek bit. Due to the Material Mouthpieces made of a plastic compound or leather are contrary to those made of metal significantly softer and weigh a lot less. This is what most horses love about these bits. But the horses´ teeth are considerably harder than any plastic compound or leather and can shorten the lifespan of a mouthpiece made of these materials. If the bit is correctly placed in the dental free area between the Incisors and Molars (Diastema), a damage done to the mouthpiece is quite unlikely, but caused by sharp edged-teeth not impossible. For these reasons we cannot offer any warranty for damages due to bite marks or incorrect placement of the bit. Correct position The bit is correctly positioned with engraving visible on the left side of the horse´s mouth. Beris brand name is stamped on the left hand side of the cheekpiece.
