Bombers Liverpool Rotate Happy Tongue Straight Forward Port. The Happy Tongue Straight is a solid mouth bit which is ported to relieve tongue pressure but is not curved. This makes is slightly stronger than the curved Happy Tongue. The Happy Tongue Straight Forward Port allows for tongue relief and is angled slightly forward. The forward angle discourages the horse from pushing its nose too far out in front of the vertical. This is by far our most successful design – we recommend for all young horses and those that show tongue sensitive signs. The 4 available ports have been scaled according to each width. This ensures accurate fitting over the bars and eliminates the rocking movement which occurs when the port is too wide. When used in conjunction with a fixed cheekpiece it should fit tightly to eliminate and sideward movement. CHEEKPIECE – LIVERPOOL ROTATE with Solid mouthpiece – Liverpool is a driving bit and is available in a 2 or 3 slot. The mouthpiece is fixed between the cheekpieces, offering tongue relief in the form of a port. The cheekpieces rotate on the vertical, allowing the mouthpiece to move independently from the cheekpiece. When used in conjunction with a Liverpool it should fit tightly to eliminate any sideward movement. Fixed cheek providing lateral aids and allowing for variable options for the reins to adjust poll and tongue pressure. A fixed cheek piece is designed to sit closely to the horses lips, it encourages flexion. Supplied with stainless steel curb chain and hooks. Optionally supplied with a bridge. BOMBERS SWEET IRON Sweet Iron used in the manufacture of mouth pieces will oxidize when it comes into contact with moisture; this oxidation process encourages salivation which improves acceptance of the bit. This process changes the blue colour of the Bomber horse bit to a brownish grey. If not used for a while, any build- up may be removed with a scourer and wiped with a damp cloth.
